Penicillium rubrum is a species of the genus of Penicillium which produces kojic acid, mitorubrin, mitorubrinol, rubratoxin A, rubratoxin B rubralactone, rubramin and occurs in grain corn and soybeans.[1][3][4][5][6][7] Penicillium rubrum is similar to the species Penicillium chrysogenum[8]
