Syed Talat Hussain (Urdu: سید طلعت حسین) [1] is a Pakistani journalist, foreign policy commentator and a television personality.He was born in Chakwal.[2] Syed Talat Hussain is currently hosting a prime time current affairs talk show on Geo News titled Naya Pakistan with Talat Hussain.[3] Before, he has been an executive director of AAJ Television[4] and had also worked for PTV and Dawn News. He has written for Newsline, Daily Dawn, Time magazine, Daily Times (Pakistan), Daily Express and occasionally contributed to India Today. He is well known for his stand and criticism against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, one of the most famous political parties in Pakistan, and its chairman, Imran Khan.
Talat Hussain is currently working with Geo News TV.[5] He recently left Dawn News and before Dawn news he was in Aaj TV as executive director News and Current Affairs. In the past he has written for Newsline and Time magazine. He also occasionally contributes to India Today. In the international arena he has worked with CNN and ABC as a producer and has done extensive reporting for Los Angeles Times, and the New York Times. In 2008 he started writing columns for The Daily Express. As a media professional he has vast experience in establishing news and current affairs systems. He established ARY’s Islamabad office and headed the team that launched PTV World News. He has held key positions of Director, News & Current Affairs, with Pakistan Television Corporation, Prime Television (UK) and Telebiz. Talat Hussain has recently joined Geo news and he will be seen in a new program.[5]
Early career
In the late 1990s, Hussain ran the morning news show Sawairay Sawairay on PTV. Later, after the opening of PTV World, he started another program called News Night..
He has held key positions of Director, News & Current Affairs with Pakistan Television Corporation, Prime Television (UK) and Telebiz. he was Director News at Aaj TV and also write occasionally for Daily Express, an Urdu newspapers since July 2008.
Currently, he works as a part-time host for Saach TV, and has also joined Bahria University in Islamabad as Project Director and Assistant Professor. He has been tasked to reinvigorate the Media Studies program at Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University.
Personal Life Talat Hussain is married to Tehmina Hussain. They have 3 children together.

Gaza flotilla clash
On the 30th of May 2010, Hussain was aboard the convoy amid conflict during the Gaza flotilla clash.Due to loss of communications, Hussain’s status and whereabouts are unknown although a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Pakistan) stated “the Government of Pakistan is seriously concerned over the well-being and whereabouts of the Pakistani citizens and media personnel including Syed Talat Hussain and Raza Mahmood Agha (both of them from AAJ Television) who were on board the Flotilla bound for Gaza. The Foreign Ministry is in constant touch with its Missions in the region to ascertain the well-being of our nationals.” and on June01,2010. he was released via Shah Abdullah II of Jordan and he came back Karachi via Dubai.
