Talyah Tanzania Polee (born July 23, 1988) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from San Bernardino, California. After three attempts to win the Miss Nevada USA title, Polee was crowned Miss Colorado USA 2015 and represented Colorado at the Miss USA 2015 pageant.

Pageant career

In January 2012, Polee entered the Miss Nevada USA pageant.[1] The competition was held in the Pearl Theatre at the Palms Casino Resort in Paradise, Nevada. On January 29, 2012, she was named Miss Photogenic USA and won non-finalist awards in the swimsuit and evening gown portions of the competition.[2]

In January 2013, Polee entered the Miss Nevada USA pageant as Miss Battle Mountain USA.[3] The competition was held at the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. On January 27, 2013, she was named third runner-up.

In January 2014, Polee entered the Miss Nevada USA pageant as Miss Battle Mountain USA.[4][5] The competition was held at the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus.[4] On January 12, 2014, she was named top-fifteen for the statewide crown.[6]

In October 2014, Polee entered the Miss Colorado USA pageant at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, Colorado.[7][8] She was crowned Miss Colorado USA 2015 on October 26, 2014.[9][10] Polee represented Colorado at the Miss USA 2015 pageant on July 12, 2015, but was not a finalist.[11][12][13]

Personal life and education

Talyah Polee was born in 1988, in San Bernardino, California, to Twila and Philip Polee.[14] One of five siblings, she has three sisters and one brother.[14] Polee is a 2006 graduate of Victor Valley High School in Victorville, California.[14] Polee is a former Division I collegiate track and field athlete, competing for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 2006 to 2011.[14][9][15] She graduated from UNLV with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2010.[8]
