Tamanna Begum (1948–2012) was a Pakistani drama and film artist.

Career

Tamanna started her media career from Radio Pakistan in the 1960s as a presenter and later performed in theater plays before joining films.[1] She ventured into films in the 1970s and continued worked at Lollywood until the late 1980s. She often appeared in negative roles but also performed light entertaining and comedian roles. Her popular films include Afshan (1971), Ilzaam, Nadan (1971),Mehndi, Behan Bhai (1979) and Bharosa (1977). She is a recipient of the Nigar award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Bharosa (1977).[1][2]

After a decade of filming career, she joined television and appeared in many character roles.

Death

Tamanna Begum died after protracted illness in Karachi on 20 February 2012 at the age of 64.[3]
