Tané Matsukata

Taneko ″Tané″ Matsukata (松方 種子 Matsukata Taneko, 1918–1989) was the founder of Nishimachi International School in Azabu, Tokyo.[1][2] Her paternal grandfather was former Prime Minister of Japan Matsukata Masayoshi. Her maternal grandfather was a Japanese silk entrepreneur Ryoichiro Arai. Her sister was Haru M. Reischauer, wife of former United States Ambassador to Japan Edwin O. Reischauer.[3]
