Tareque Masud was a Bangladeshi independent film director, film producer, screenwriter and lyricist. Masud's first film was Sonar Beri (The Chains of Gold), a documentary on the oppressed condition of Bangladeshi women in the 1985. The film is directed, wrote and produced by Masud. After he is famous internationally by his first feature film Matir Moina (The Clay Bird) in 2002.
