Targobank (formerly Citibank, Germany) is the German retail banking arm of Crédit Mutuel.

History

In December 2008 Citibank sold its German branch to Crédit Mutuel. It formally changed its name to "Targobank", a generic term, preceding significant re-structuring according to Crédit Mutuel standards and ideals.[1] Crédit mutuel is a major cooperative bank with French and German roots.

Sponsorship

Targobank took over the sponsorship deal with Werder Bremen which was started by Citibank, after a transition message of "So geht Bank heute" ("That's how today's banking goes").
