Taron Voskanyan (Armenian: Տարոն Ոսկանյան, born 22 February 1993 in Yerevan) is an Armenian football player who currently plays midfielder for the Armenian national team and for Armenian Premier League club Pyunik Yerevan.
Club career
Taron Voskanyan was a pupil of the football school Pyunik Yerevan. The principle of the management of the club is the cultivation of their talents, manifesting itself in the junior teams and giving players a chance to appear in the main team. Like most children of the club, Voskanyan proceeded on this path, beginning his professional career with the youth team. As part of Pyunik-2, he played eight matches in the championship of the First League for the 2010 season. Immediately followed by a rise in rank, and next season Voskanyan played exclusively for the first team in the Armenian Premier League. In the first round, Voskanyan was chosen for the Premier League match, his participation on the field took place only a month after the start of the championship.[1] Voskanyan debuted on 2 April 2011 in a game against the guest Ulisses. Voskanyan played all 90 minutes and the game ended with a score 0:1.[2] Months later, Pyunik won the 2011 Armenian Supercup with Voskanyan on the team.
International career
As a player of the main team of Pyunik, Voskanyan was invited into the ranks of the Armenia U-19 junior team at 19 years of age, and first played for the team on 21 October 2011 against peers from Slovakia U-19. Armenia won 2–1.[3] Voskanyan subsequently had a few more games with the youth team. Voskanyan has been a player of the Armenia U-21 youth team since June 2012. He made his debut in his first game on 12 June in a match against Andorra U-21. The game turned out triumphant. Armenia won the match, beating their rivals 4–1. The scorer of the second goal was Voskanyan.[4]
Voskanyan again played for the youth team, and a month later he was invited to the camp of the senior Armenia national football team for a match against the Italian national team on 12 October 2012.[5] His debut was just over a month away in the next game on 14 November 2012 against Lithuania. Voskanyan came out on the field for Robert Arzumanyan, replacing him at 29 minutes. The match ended with the victory of Armenia – 4:2.[6]
