‘'’Tashkent Financial Institute'’’ is considered to be one the biggest universities of Uzbekistan, which is located in the center of Tashkent city. The main goal of the university is upbringing professional employees on economy field.
History
Tashkent Financial Institute's history goes back to the year of 1931, when the university was firstly established as the "Central Asian financial-economical institution". After some years it was renamed to the "Tashkent financial-economical institution". Even this was not the last change, in the year of 1962 it was renamed to the Tashkent State Economical University. However, after the independence of Uzbekistan, by the edict of President of Republic Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, university was re-opened under the "Tashkent State Economical University" with the name "Tashkent Financial Institute", in the year of 1991 on May the thirteenth. In the years of independence, Tashkent Financial Institute was able to teach more than 13500 professionals.[1][2]
About the Institute
Tashkent Financial Institute has developed continuous and big model of training professionals, which consists of levels which are:finance and tax lyceums, bank college, bachelor's degree, master's degree, qualification institution, postgraduate studies including doctoral. To use this model in practice and make it equal to the world standards, Tashkent Financial Institute has opened 7 faculties which has 26 departments. More than 350 professors and teachers are working in this departments. In addition to this, the university has created the system which assists to the teachers, to enhance their practical knowledge by giving qualification trainings.
The university has partnership with various international universities on economy field. Professors and teachers of Tashkent Financial Institute are regularly having trainings abroad, because of the contract in the universities like: “Texas Agricultural and Mechanical engineering University (US)", "Ritsumeikan University (Japan)", "Asian Pacific Ocean University", "University of Stirling(England)", "Moscow finance academy", "Moscow State University",”St.Petersburg Economical and Finance Institution"(Russian Federation), "University of Mannheim", "University of Passau", "Hamburg University of Information technologies"(Germany), "University Teknologi Mara(Malaysia)", "Indian Financial University(India)". At the Tashkent Financial Institute studies are mainly held on subjects which are related to the economy and they are taught with the new teaching technologies. Meanwhile, institute has given big attention to teaching foreign languages(English, Russian) and computer technologies. All the textbooks and materials related to the studies are provided due to the plan. Institute has the information recourse center which is equipped with the modern computers and all the other needs. Recourse center also consists of big library which is open for students. "e-university" system is implemented successfully in Tashkent Financial Institute. Institute provides its students not only with high education process, but also with opportunities to do some sports and have a rest. Nowadays university has "Ma'naviyavama'rifat" rooms, and sports center called "Moliyachi". Meanwhile, university has three dormitories for its students.[3]
Strategies for development
In the age when economy is growing rapidly, the world needs well-educated and trained specialists, who would cover demands for the professionals on finance and economy field. Tashkent Financial Institute covers all the needs of the prospective students and provides them with high educational standards in Uzbekistan. Tashkent Financial Institute has its own plans and strategies to develop the professionals. Plans of the Institute are listed below:
1) Pay big attention to the gifted students who are curious about studying, and give all the necessities for them to study. Meanwhile, provide them with a chance to choose professor or teachers freely.
2) Enlarge the qualification and knowledge of available professors and teachers.
3) Improve the textbooks and write new textbooks with discussions by calling the writers together.
4) Reinforce the relations with the universities from developed countries. Make the university equal to the international universities.
5) Attract the investors from abroad, to develop the university.
6) Work more with the National Academy of Uzbekistan, with central and commercial banks of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Finance and many other companies in order to improve the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge.[4][5]
Faculties
Currently there 7 working faculties at the Tashkent Financial Institute. They are: “Financial management faculty”, “Accounts and audit faculty”, “Credit-economy faculty”, “Finance-economy faculty”, “Insurance faculty”, “Budget accounts and state funds faculty” and the last one is “Magistracy branch”.
Financial management faculty
Financial management faculty was first opened in 2004 under the name of “Management”. In 2011 the faculty got its current name of “Financial management faculty”. In 2003–10, F. Karimov was the leader of the faculty. During the years of 2010–2012 F.Babashev controlled the faculty. Nowadays from the year 2012 O.Astanakulov is the dean of “Financial management faculty”. The faculty consists of 4 departments which are:
1) Management and marketing
2) Financial management
3) Professional education
4) Uzbek and Russian languages

Accounts and audit faculty
Accounts and audit faculty was first established in 1946 in Tashkent under the base of Leningrad institute. In the first year 54 students graduated from this faculty. The first major of the faculty was "Statistics" which started in 1948. After this some majors were held till this days, they are: “Accounts in State bank” 1955, “Accounts in agriculture” 1952, “Accounts and economical changes in transport corporations” 1964. From the year 1980 “Controlling” was the major of the faculty. After the Independence of Uzbekistan faculty obtained its current name, and was called as the "Acounts and audit faculty". Graduates of this faculty are now working in recognized corporations and state companies of Uzbekistan. In 1990 under the base of this faculty "Republican accountants and auditors union" was established. Currently, the dean of the faculty is Karimova KomilaDoniyorovna.

Credit-economy faculty
The history of this faculty goes back to the year of 1946 when it was opened under the name of "Credit economy" and "Finance-economy". After the Independence of Uzbekistan, by the edict of Islam Karimov which was made on the May thirteen 1991, the faculty of Credit-economy was opened on June the first in the year of 1991. The main reason for creation of this faculty was the high demands for employee's in finance-credit profession. Currently the dean of the faculty is N.Oblomurodov. Nowadays, faculty has three departments which are:
1) “Bank work”;
2) “Accounts and audit in banks”;
3) “Information and communication technologies”.
Faculty building supplies the students with modern conference halls and rooms:
1. Conference hall (capacitance 215 people each) – 2 halls;
2. Study rooms (capacitance 1000 people) – 33 rooms;
3. Computer classes (capacitance 210 people) – 2 classes;
4. Language rooms – 3 rooms;

Finance-economics faculty
Finance-economy faculty is truly the biggest faculty of Tashkent Financial Institute. It was opened in the same year as many other faculties. This faculty obtained his current name after the Independence of Uzbekistan, and by the edict of President of the Republic Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. There are 4 departments in the faculty. Finance-economy faculty co-operates with many international universities and most of the gifted students of the Institute study exactly at this faculty. Currently the dean and leader of the finance-economy faculty is Rustamov Davron Rustamovich.

Insurance faculty
Insurance faculty was first established in 2005 after edicts of the "Ministry of Education" and by the rector of "Financial Institute" under the name of "Tax and insurance work". However, in the year of 2011 it was renamed to its current name: “Insurance faculty”. This faculty also co-operates with many international universities all around the globe. There 3 departments in “Insurance faculty”, which are:
1) Tax’s;
2) Insurance work;
3) Philosophy and theory of building democratic nation in Uzbekistan.
The dean of the “Insurance faculty” is RadjabovUmurzakAblakulovich.

Budget accounts and state funds faculty
“Budget accounts and state funds faculty" was first established in 2004 under the name of "Universal economy" by the edicts of the "Tashkent Financial Institute Scientific council". Again by the same edict the name of the faculty was renamed to its current position, which is "Budget accounts and state funds faculty", on 29 January 2010. Nowadays, the dean of the faculty is Karimqulov Jasur Imomboevich. There five departments in this faculty, which are:
1) Pension work;
2) Investments;
3) Budget counting;
4) Business;
5) Physical education and sport.

Magistracy branch
“Magistracy branch" of the "Tashkent Financial Institute" was established to provide the prospective students with the chance to study their postgraduate programs. Magistracy branch consists of 2 courses, and in the year of 2012, there were studying 866 students(508 from course one, 358 from course 2). Currently the dean of "Magistracy branch" is ArtikovUyg'unDavlatovich. There are 14 departments in the "Magistracy branch". They are: “Finance”, “Theory of economy”, “Bank work”, “Accounts and audit in banks”, “Accounting”, “Audit”, “Financial analysis”, “Statistics”, “Financial management”, “Budget counting”, “Exchequer work”, “Financial market and money”, “Investments” and “Insurance work”.

Dormitories
In Tashkent Financial Institute there are three dormitories for their current students.
Dormitory 1
The first dormitory of "Tashkent Financial Institute" is located in Tashkent, Olmazar district, A.Xidoyatov street. This dormitory consists of 4 levels and has the capacitance of 235 people. Each level has the rooms for 2 or 3 people, meanwhile, each stage has the rest-rooms, kitchens, halls. Also, the first dormitory has the sport hall which is supplied with modern sport equipment. The dormitory is provided with 11 kinds of newspapers and magazines, for the students to read and know the world news. Director of the first dormitory is Sh.Qodirova.[19]
Dormitory 2
The second dormitory of "Tashkent Financial Institute" is also located in Olmazar district, but in Chimboy street. This dormitory has 4 stages with 175 places. All the rooms are for 2 or 3 people. Each level has the rooms for 2 or 3 people, meanwhile, each stage has the rest-rooms, kitchens, halls. Also, the first dormitory has the sport hall which is supplied with modern sport equipment. The dormitory is provided with 11 kinds of newspapers and magazines, for the students to read and know the world news. Director of the first dormitory is Q.Bekimbetov.[20]
Dormitory 3
The third dormitory of "Tashkent Financial Institute" is located in Tashkent, Yunusabad district, Osiyo street 1-house. It is 9 levels building for the 193 students. Each level has the rooms for 2 or 3 people, meanwhile, each stage has the rest-rooms, kitchens, halls. Also, the first dormitory has the sport hall which is supplied with modern sport equipment. The dormitory is provided with 11 kinds of newspapers and magazines, for the students to read and know the world news. Director of the first dormitory is N.Axunjanova.[21]
Tashkent Financial Institute in world arena
“Tashkent Financial Institute" was ranked with the 9th position as the best masters ranking in economics.[22]
