Tata Pr1ma

Tata Pr1ma

The Tata Pr1ma is a concept luxury saloon designed by Pininfarina and built by Tata Motors. It is based on the Tata Indigo's wheelbase. It was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2009.[1]

The Pr1ma is a production ready concept, it is planned to be launched in end 2016.

The vehicle gets its name from the Italian word for First, aptly so the vehicle would be a first for Tata Motors in this segment. The vehicle would give Tata's a space in the pie of high segment cars which is currently dominated by Honda and Hyundai in India.

The vehicle comes in as an addition to a slew of concepts that Tata Motors have been showcasing for some time now, and would join in the fleet just like Aria (Based on the Xover Concept) did in December 2010.

Based on the platform of the first Indian saloon, the Tata Indigo, the Tata Pr1ma addresses a higher segment, and the external and internal measurements are larger than those of the Indigo, thanks to a longer wheelbase (2700 mm).
