History

Taylor Corporation was founded in 1975 by Glen Taylor when he purchased Carlson Wedding Service located in North Mankato, Minnesota. Previous owner Bill Carlson had decided to sell the company in preparation for retirement.[3] Taylor had worked for and alongside Carlson since 1959.[4]

In 1975, Taylor Corporation began with Carlson Craft as its first holding.[5] Carlson Craft has become Taylor’s largest company and is the nation's leading wholesale printing company.[6]

In 1987, Corporate Report Minnesota reported that Taylor Corporation had become the country’s largest printer of wedding stationery, invitations, thank-you notes, church programs, and response and reception cards. In these areas, Taylor companies represented 50% of the United States market and 80% of the markets in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota.[7]

As of 2013, Glen Taylor continues to serve as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Taylor Corporation.[8]

June 9, 2015 "Taylor Corp. has announced that Deb Taylor has been named chief executive officer. Company founder Glen Taylor will remain chairman of the board."[9]
