The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) was founded in 2009 to enhance and encourage cooperation between research organizations supported by the state and the business sector. Within its programmes, projects of applied research, experimental development and innovations are being selected and financed.

The Board of TA CR

The Board of TA CR approves publication of public tenders in research, development, and innovation, decides the conclusion of contracts on the support or a decision to grant of the support. Presents a draft statute of Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and its amendments for approval to the Government.

Chairwoman of The Technology Agency CR is Rut Bízková, Ing. which represents and acts on its behalf in all matters of the TA CR, chairs meetings of the Board, appoints and dismisses the Director of the Office of TA CR.

The Office of TA CR

The Office of TA CR is an organizational and administrative part of the agency and it is responsible for the preparation of programmes and their documents, as well as the subsequent implementation of these programmes.

The Control Council of TA CR

The Control Council of TA CR is a supervisory authority of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. The Control Council has ten members appointed by the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic on the proposal of legal entities engaged in research and development.

Membership in the control board is an irreplaceable role and incompatible with the function in other authorities TA CR. The term of the office is four years with the possibility of appointing for a maximum of two consecutive periods.

The Research Council

The Research Council is the conceptual authority of The TA CR. The Research Council has twelve members which are appointed and dismissed by the Government on the proposal of the Council for Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I Council). The term of office is four years. Chairman of the Research Council and deputy chairman of the council are appointedand removed by the Government on the proposal of the R&D&I Council.

The Sectoral Commissions

The Sectoral Commissions have a major role as advisory authorities which assess and evaluate project proposals that are applying for the support of research, experimental development and innovation from public funds.

Programmes of The Technology Agency CR

Programme ALPHA

ALPHA Programme is focused on supporting applied research and experimental development especially in the fields of progressive technologies, materials and systems, energy resources and the protection and creation of environment, and sustainable development of transportation.

The gained knowledge applied in the form of innovation will lead to strengthening the performance of businesses, increase the competitiveness of the economy and society of the Czech Republic. It will increase the quality of life of the population and overall quality of the environment.

Programme BETA

BETA Programme is focused on the public procurement in research, experimental development and innovation for the needs of public administration.

Programme GAMMA

The GAMMA programme aims to support the verification of the results of applied research and experimental development (hereinafter referred to as “R&DI”) in terms of their practical application and to prepare their subsequent commercial use. The main objective of the programme is to support and significantly streamline the transformation of R&DI results achieved in research organizations and/or in collaboration between research organizations and enterprises into practical applications to enable their commercialization and support their implementation.

Programme Delta

DELTA programme of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic supports the cooperation of Czech companies and research organizations with their foreign partners in the area of applied research and experimental development. Joint projects can be supported only with partners from those countries, where technology or innovation agencies have established cooperation with TA CR. The main aim of the programme is to enable Czech companies and research organizations to cooperate with institutions from non-European countries like USA, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan or Vietnam.

Thanks to the DELTA programme the access of researchers from the Czech Republic to international know-how and foreign research capacities and vice versa will be facilitated as well as the access to foreign markets. Ideally, the program will also contribute to the transfer of best practices from and to the Czech Republic.

Programme EPSILON

The EPSILON programme is mainly focused on improving the standing of the Czech Republic, as well as European industry in a global context, through the support of applied research and experimental development, whose results have a high potential for rapid application in new products, production processes and services, particularly in the following priority areas:

The aim of the EPSILON programme is to support projects, whose results have a high potential for rapid application in new products, production processes and services. The instrument for achieving this aim is fulfilment of the National priorities of targeted research, experimental development and innovation by providing support to projects, through which the research objectives of the areas and sub-areas of the given priorities will be achieved. The program target aims to promote industrial applications especially when using new technologies and new materials in the areas of energy, environment and transport.

The program aims to support projects whose results have a high potential for rapid application in new products, production processes and services. Instrument for achieving this goal is to fulfill the National priorities of the oriented research, experimental development and innovation through support for projects under which will be implemented research goals of the domains and sub of the priorities.

Programme OMEGA

The aim of the OMEGA programme is to support projects of applied research and experimental development, the results of which have a high potential for application in many areas of Czech society. The thematic focus of the programme is in line with the priorities set by the National Policy of Research, Development and Innovation of the Czech Republic for 2009 - 2015. The knowledge gained will help to define the factors and processes that determine and affect the functioning and development of Czech society in the context of the ongoing European integration and world globalization.

The main objective of the programme is to strengthen research activities in the area of applied social sciences and apply the results of these activities to increase the competitiveness of the Czech Republic, enhance the quality of life of its inhabitants and balance socio-economic development.

Competence Centres

The aim of the competence centre programme is to support the establishment and operation of centres for research, development and innovation in advanced fields with high application and innovative potential and a perspective for making a substantial contribution to the growth of competitiveness of the Czech Republic.

In connection with the main objective of the programme, which is to increase the competitiveness of the Czech Republic, the programme stimulates the creation and operation of centres of research, development and innovation that are innovative, competitive, sustainable, have a market potential and centralize the research and application capacities of the public and private sectors.

International Collaboration

One of the main activities that TACR provides according to the Statute is the development of international collaboration in applied research and innovation and collaboration with similar agencies abroad.
