Tenable Network Security is a developer of vulnerability detection systems. Tenable Network Security is an American network security company, co-founded by Ron Gula, Jack Huffard, and Renaud Deraison in 2002.^[1][2] Tenable Network Security is headquartered in Maryland, United States of America with additional offices in United Kingdom, and Singapore. The company’s products provide network vulnerability scanning for over 75,000+ organizations worldwide.^[3] Tenable Network Security products have been granted vulnerability detection certifications by multiple entities including Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard,^[4] Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme,^[5] Center for Internet Security,^[6] and National Institute of Standards and Technology^[7] The United States Department of Defense have standardized their networks security by using products made by Tenable Network Security.^[8]

History

• Renaud Deraison started the Nessus Open source project in 1998 as a free remote scanner.^[9]
• Ron Gula, Renaud Deraison, and Jack Huffard co-founded Tenable Network Security in 2002.^[1]
• Nessus, Tenable Network Security's most widely used product was changed to Closed Source in 2005.^[10]
