Critics
Button pushing
On May 21, 2015 Tetiana Chornovol violated rules and voted insted of her colleague Elena Ledovskikh during the vote on the draft law №1912 "On Amendments to Section XX" Transitional Provisions "of the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding peculiarities of taxation importation and distribution of vehicles equipped with electric motors". Later Chornovol said that she did it on purpose. " Let's say, the fuel and energy lobby was against this bill concerning the preferential import of electric cars, and I was afraid that the law will not pass. In fact, new technologies are very necessary for the country ... It was some provocation. I wanted to show the protest against the hysteria, which is open in this regard. Because in reality "button pushing" is a shameful phenomenon, but it is not the biggest problem in parliament. This is not the only problem that should be considered and we should not forget about other problems that really affect the state. I believe that attention should be drawn on the systemic issues of the work of Parliament and, again, I want the deputies to be responsible for voting" - she said on an interview on « 112 » channel.
Private life
Chornovol is a widowed mother of two. Her husband, Mykola Berezovyi,[2] a volunteer fighter in the Azov Battalion, was killed on 10 August 2014 during the fighting in eastern Ukraine.[62][63] Chornovol and her husband met at a political rally. Their younger child was born in October 2010.[64]
