Alvis Newman "Tex" Shirley (April 25, 1918 – November 7, 1993) was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played from 1941 to 1942, and again from 1944 to 1946. Shirley played for the Philadelphia Athletics and the St. Louis Browns.
