Description | The ribbon drape is of gold and silver stripes. The medal is bronze with the Coat of Arms of Texas and the words "For Service" and "State Military Force" on the obverse. On the reverse is the outline map of the state of Texas with the words "Outstanding Service Medal Texas." |

The Texas Outstanding Service Medal is an award of the Texas Military Forces. It is the fifth highest of the military decoration that may be awarded to a member of the Texas Military Forces.
Eligibility
The Texas Outstanding Service Medal may be awarded to members of the Texas Military Forces or another officially organized state militia.
Use
The Texas Outstanding Service Medal may be presented to a member of the military forces of this state, another state, or the United States who has performed service in a superior and clearly outstanding manner. The Adjutant General shall make rules and regulations pertaining to this award.[1]
