Thapna is a New Year as per Rajasthani and Haryanvi calendar (Marwari Miti). Starting with 1st day of Chaitra Shudh. On 23 March 2012 Rajasthani new year of 2069 will start.In Rajasthani and Haryanavi language people greet each other by saying "Nuvan baras ri badhaiyan". On this day people do homas (Yajna).
