The Advocate (Victoria)

The Advocate was a weekly newspaper published in Melbourne, Victoria for the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne from 1868, and continues to this day as a monthly magazine and web page.

Issues from Vol.I No.1 published Saturday 1 February 1868[1] to Thursday 30 December 1954 are (or will soon be) available on-line and accessible via Trove, a service of the National Library of Australia. As at March 2015 issues later than 1948 have yet to undergo OCR digitization.
