The Ballagh

The Ballagh (Irish: An Bealach - "the way"), is a small village in the southeastern corner of Ireland. It is situated in County Wexford just off the R741 regional road halfway between the towns of Gorey to the north and Wexford to the south.

Sport

Oulart the Ballagh is the local GAA/hurling club. They have won the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship on eleven occasions, most recently in 2013. In March 2012 Oulart the Ballagh won the All-Ireland Senior Club Camoige Final.

Amenities

The village contains a local school, church, community centre and health clinic, along with two pubs and a newsagents. A mile outside the village there is a coillte forest, suitable for walking.

Population growth

The past decade has seen a large growth in population of The Ballagh, largely made up of people from Foreign Countries who have moved to the area. This has resulted in the construction of over five new housing estates within the village.
