The Benham Brothers are David and Jason Benham and they are identical twins. Jason Benham played Minor League Baseball and both brothers were the hosts of Flip it Forward with HGTV. They authored Whatever the Cost as well. Today, they run BENHAM Real Estate Group.[1]
David Benham
David Benham attended Liberty University. A few years after college, he began working with his brother in real estate. They had no success until a bank contacted them to work on a foreclosed home. After fixing the home the bank was impressed and gave them many more jobs. Later, he co-founded BENHAM Real Estate Group.[2][3]
Jason Benham
Jason Benham graduated from Liberty University in 1998 and got a master's degree from American Christian College in 2001. Jason was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, and later moved to the St. Louis Cardinals farm system, but never played above Double-A for either team. After retiring from baseball, Jason moved to Charlotte, NC where he worked at the David Drye Company. Two years later David and Jason established the BENHAM Real Estate Group.[4]
Flip it Forward: HGTV
On April 18th 2014, HGTV announced it was planning on having a home improvement show called "Flip It Forward" hosted by the Benham Brothers premiere in October 2014.[5] On May 6th 2014, the left-leaning organization Right Wing Watch released a post condemning HGTV's decision to have the brothers host the show because of their stance on a range of social issues.[6] The following day, HGTV announced via a tweet that it would not "move forward with the Benham Brothers' series, thereby cancelling the production.[7] Faith-based organizations such as GlobalFlare.com stated the cancellation came out as a result of a "smear campaign", while the brothers have stated they blame a "gay agenda" for the network's decision.[8][9]
