The Brilliance, stylized as the BRILLIANCE, are an American worship music duo of David Gungor and John Arndt. They come from various locations in the United States. The band started making music in 2010. Integrity Music signed the band. Brother is the first studio album by The Brilliance. This charted on the Billboard Christian Albums chart.
Background
The Brilliance is a worship music duo that has their origins in four cities in the United States.[1][2] The band started out in 2010 with David Gungor in Tulsa, Oklahoma, leading worship services at a church, and John Arndt coming from Austin, Texas, at that time.[2] The two would move their home bases to New York City for Gungor and Chicago for Arndt.[2] Gungor's brother is Michael Gungor.[2]
Music history
The duo started making music in 2010, with the release of a self-titled album, The Brilliance, on October 19, 2010.[3] They quickly followed it up with 2011's, Advent, Vol. 1, on November 28, 2011.[4] In 2012, the duo released, Lent, on February 29, 2012.[5] Additionally in 2012, they released, Cavetime - A Worship Experience, on November 23, 2012.[6] Subsequently, they made two extended plays, on December 2, 2013, released, Advent B Sides EP,[7] and then came out, For Our Children EP, on December 2, 2014.[8] This all culminated, when they caught the attention of Integrity Music, and they released the duo's first studio album, on February 17, 2015, Brother.[9] This album was positively reviewed by Jesus Freak Hideout, twice,[10] The album also charted on the Billboard Christian Albums chart at No. 36.[11]
