Established in 1997 The British International School Bratislava is one of the longest serving international schools in Slovakia. The school belongs to Nord Anglia Education, commonly referred to as Nord Anglia, an international provider of international schools. Nord Anglia Education operates 42 schools globally for children between 2 and 18, with over 34 000 students across 15 countries.

The British International School in Bratislava is attended every day by nearly 700 children from 47 countries. The school is located on two sites in Bratislava, Peknikova site for primary and secondary students (5-18) and Dolinskeho site for Early Years (children aged 2-5). The school follows a curriculum based on the National Curriculum of British schools offering IGCSE and IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma).

The school also provides an Enrichment Programme that expects all children to take part in sporting activities and outdoor pursuits, public speaking activities, performing arts, music, and service work as part of its commitment to leadership training.

The language of instruction is English and there is a comprehensive programme to support mother tongue language development in Slovak, German, French, Russian, Korean and Mandarin.
