The Buteman is a weekly tabloid newspaper serving the Isle of Bute in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. The current publisher is Angus County Press Ltd, a company within the Scotland and North East England division of Johnston Press. The Buteman's editorial offices are based in Rothesay, Bute, the only town on the island.[4][5][3]
The first issue of The Buteman, A General Advertiser for the Western Isles was published on 13 December 1854.[3]
