The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina

As of January 1, 2014, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) reported 421,971 members in 70 stakes and 37 districts, 792 congregations (481 wards[1] and 360 branches[1]), 12 missions, and one temple in Argentina.[2]

History

The LDS Church began in Argentina with the establishment of the South American mission here under the direction of apostle Melvin J. Ballard in 1925.

Announced at the 178th Semiannual General Conference.[3]. A public open house was held from 17 April-2 May 2015, excluding Sundays, and the temple was dedicated in three sessions on 17 May 2015.[4][5]
