• Goldsboro originally released the song in 1977 entitled "The Cowboy and the Lady".^[4] It reached #85 on the U.S. country chart.^[5]
• John Denver released a version of the song in 1981 that reached #50 on the U.S. county chart and #66 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was featured on his 1981 album, Some Days Are Diamonds.^[6]
