Plot

Continuity
- The serpentine Mara and its relationship with Tegan were introduced in Kinda. The Mara returned in Snakedance, when the TARDIS was dragged to its home planet, Manussa.
- Although this is the Doctor's second visit to Manussa, it is hundreds of years earlier in their history, before their industrialized civilization fell.
Cast notes
Vernon Dobtcheff played the Chief Scientist in the 1969 story The War Games, in which role he became the first person to say "Time Lords" onscreen in Doctor Who.
