The Draugiem Group is an umbrella organisation that houses the national social network of Latvia, Draugiem.lv, as well as several startups that have grown out of the social network. The group is based in Riga, Latvia, with a branch in Chatsworth, California. Draugiem was launched in 2004, and currently houses 16 startups.
History
Draugiem.lv was first launched March 24, 2004. The network was established by Lauris Liberts and Agris Tamanis. The first startup was established 2006, the GPS system Mapon, creating the foundations for the Draugiem Group. This was followed by the establishment of a text messaging service in 2008, which later became known as Text2Reach. The Draugiem Group are stakeholders in all of the 16 Group projects.
