The Highlander (newspaper)

The Highlander started in nineteenth century Scotland as a political newspaper written in Gaelic and edited by John Murdoch. Murdoch became a friend of William Gillies who became a strong supporter of the Highland Land League.[1] It helped bring Gaelic language back into the spotlight, socially and politically.
