the JaneDear girls is the self-titled debut album by American country duo the JaneDear girls. It was released on February 1, 2011 via Reprise Nashville. The lead-off single, "Wildflower," was a Top 20 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The album produced two further singles in "Shotgun Girl" (a minor Top 40 hit) and "Merry Go Round."

Background

Susie Brown or Danelle Leverett co-wrote all the album's 11 songs.[5]

Critical reception

Jessica Phillips of Country Weekly rated the album two-and-a-half stars out of five, criticizing most of the songs for having an "uninspired" sound but praising both members' voices.[3] Country Standard Time writer Jeffrey B. Remz also praised the duo's singing voices, but criticized the rock influences in the production and the "formulaic" song choices.[2] Matt Bjorke of Roughstock gave the album three-and-a-half stars out of five, complimenting the album at "giving music fans a complete idea of what Susie and Danelle can do." He found fault in some of the "production choices," but concluded that "this record, as a collective whole, is a success."[4]
