The Kennedy Airlifts

The Kennedy Airlifts occurred in 1959 and 1960 and saw hundreds of east Africans get scholarships to study in the US. They were arranged by Tom Mboya and former American president John F. Kennedy.[1]

Barack Obama, Sr. was a beneficiary of the airlifts.
