The Knock was a British television drama set of five series, created by Anita Bronson and broadcast on ITV from 1994 to 2000, which portrayed the activities of customs officers from Her Majesty's Customs and Excise. Investigation Division

The series derived its name from the distinctive "Knock knock knock" command used over the radio to synchronise a raid.

The Knock consisted of 5 series. Series 1 had seven episodes, series 2 had thirteen episodes, series 3 had seven episodes, series 4 had six episodes and series 5 had four episodes . Series One and Series Two are out on DVD (although quite rare). Series Three and Series Four are even rarer. Series 5 had 4 episodes. This does not seem available on DVD.

Series One was broadcast on 10th April 1994. Series Two broadcast on 28th April1996 on ITV with the last episode broadcasting on 21st July 1996. Series Three was broadcast on 6th April 1997, Series Four was broadcast on 7th January 1999 and Series Five was broadcast from 21st October 2000

Series One and Series Two were broadcast on Australian Television late at night in 2014.

The Knock was when broadcast considered to be an average show, but now is considered to be quite gritty Television somewhat along the lines of the HBO series The Wire
