The Last Post is a Big Finish Productions audiobook based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. The Companion Chronicles "talking books" are each narrated by one of the Doctor's companions and feature a second, guest-star voice along with music and sound effects.
Plot
Liz Shaw, the Third Doctor's assistant, has been charting a series of deaths predicted by mysterious letters which seem to have a connection to her own mother.
Cast
- Liz Shaw - Caroline John
- Emily Shaw - Rowena Cooper
Continuity
- This story takes place throughout the seventh season of Doctor Who in 1970. There are scenes set during Spearhead from Space when the Doctor was recovering from his regeneration, after The Silurians when a virus was being curtailed and during The Ambassadors of Death when the Doctor was in space, negotiating with aliens. Most of the story takes place just before Inferno, when Professor Stahlman's project is investigated.
- One of the first victims was the governor of Stangmoor Prison, which the Doctor later visits in the 1971 story, The Mind of Evil.
Notes
- This was Caroline John's final performance as Liz Shaw.[1] She died in June 2012.
