The Learning Curve International School (TLC) is an English medium selective private school located in Vijaynagar 1st stage, Mysore. It is affiliated to Edexcel, the London international GCSE examining Board.
History
TLC International School was started in 2003 in JP Nagar, Mysore, by an English couple, Mrs. Felicity Gibson and Mr. Terry Gibson, under the name TLC. The school was taken over by Prof.V.Puttamadappa education Trust in 2013, and the campus was moved to its current location in Vijaynagar 2nd stage, Mysore.

The Learning Curve school is an English medium, selective private school for boys and girls aged 3 years 10 months (LKG) to 18 years (A - Level). It is affiliated to Edexcel,and follows International GCSE exams. Aims to provide a broad, stimulating and truly international educational experience, with very high standards, within the British Key Stages, International GCSE, AS and A-Level curriculum. The aim of the school is to educate the whole child within a supportive setting. In addition the school is committed towards Excellence at every level of the curriculum.
About the curriculum
Early Years: Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 (Grades 1 and 2)
For children aged three years and 10 months to five years 10 months and is termed as the Foundation Stage. It is designed to prepare children to start with the National Curriculum for England. The curriculum is framed keeping in mind the psychological needs and ability of the kid.
Focused on Child-centered teaching, proper attention is given to social development skills; knowledge and understanding that children need to interact efficiently in a complex and changing world. Children in Foundation and Key Stage 1 are introduced and exposed in foundation to Reading, Writing, Science, Mathematics and Information Computer Technology through a system of practical applications, supported by a positive and stimulating learning environment.
Middle School Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 (Grade 3 to Grade 8)
Students follow Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum for England, which focuses on enriching knowledge that are nothing but an extension of knowledge established in Foundation and Key Stage 1.
Regular assessments ensures that each child’s progress and development are continuous and meet predetermined standards. The school encourage students to think independently, use their initiative and to participate in a meaningful and active manner in the learning process.
The core academic curriculum includes instruction in English, Mathematics, Science and Information and Computer Technology. Children are introduced to foreign languages such as French or Hindi at Grade 3. The overall education experience is enhanced and supplemented with instructions in the Humanities, Art, Music, Physical Education, and Personal, Social and Health Education.
By the end of Grade 6, all students would have gained a well-rounded education and they would have developed a thorough understanding and character, articulate expression, confidence, and be well-prepared for their secondary education.
Years 7 to 8, known as Key Stage 3, follows the National Curriculum for England and includes the subjects: English, English Literature, Mathematics, Humanities, Sciences, Computer Sciences, and a second language, Art and Design, Physical Education. and Personal, Social and Health Education are also offered.
Senior school Key Stage 4 and 5 (Year 9 to Year 12)
In Key Stage 4, the International GCSE curriculum (Year 9 and 10) is introduced. A range of subjects, catering for a variety of academic needs and interest, are offered. These include the compulsory subjects English, Mathematics and Physical Education along with Optional subjects like ICT, French, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accounts, Economics and Art.
After Grade 10, students can opt for the AS and A2 levels(PUC as per CBSE/state boards in India) that can be categorized as IAL(International Advanced Level) or GCE(General Certificate of Education) examination afflicted to Edexcel. A wide range of subjects are offered which assist in preparing students for higher studies or a multitude of career opportunities. Key leadership qualities are very important in these senior years. Students in these classes will be challenged to accept and develop responsibilities as leaders and citizens of the world.

Other Curriculum
Apart from the subjects students are trained in various aspects of life that help them in molding their life. Extra curriculum activities like dance, drama, excursion, physical education, tuck shops, flower arrangements, vegetable carvings, science works and so on., are also a part of the schooling. Art classes, clay molding etc are all part of curriculum so that kids have a stress free environment.

The school works five days a week - Monday to Friday from 9.15 AM to 3.20 PM. Food and transport is also provided by the school.
