The Mystery of Sasassa Valley is the first story written by Arthur Conan Doyle in 1879. [1] [2] “The Mystery of Sasassa Valley,” was featured in Chambers's Edinburgh Journal on September 6, 1879. [3] The story is set in a valley in South Africa inhabited by a demon with glowing eyes. [4]
