The Night Before is the first of two mini-albums by British alternative rock band James, released in April 2010. It featured seven tracks, plus one of two bonus tracks (depending on edition), and was available on CD and as an MP3 download. Some of the songs, such as "Porcupine", had been previewed by the band at previous shows. A track titled "All My Letters" was made available for iTunes buyers, whilst purchasers of the CD get access to an online bonus exclusive track "Mother's a Clown".
The two EPs were released individually in the UK, then packaged together as a double-disc set titled The Morning After the Night Before for the US release.
