Picking up several months following their violent and deadly showdown with the powerful witch Dahlia, a rift continues to divide brothers Klaus and Elijah, while Freya raises baby Hope while searching for a way to heal their fractured bond and return their family to the way they once were. Klaus' suspicion piques when he learns that an old vampire friend, named Lucien, arrives in New Orleans with a mysterious agenda involving warring factions within the remaining original bloodlines. A flashback to 1002 A.D. France shows the Mikaelsons taking Lucien (human at the time) hostage who persuades them, in exchange for sparing his life, to offer his services to teach them in interacting with the upper crust of high society. Meanwhile, Elijah questions whether he can truly forgive his brother for his mounting offensives, while Hayley struggles with she and her entire pack being cursed to her wolf form in the bayou and being human only once on the full moon. Elijah discovers human poachers are killing werewolves in the swamps. In the French Quarter, Vincent and Cami assist Detective Kinney after a series of gruesome murders are discovered, leading them to believe they may have a serial killer on the loose. Elsewhere, Marcel, who has regained partial control of the French Quarter once again, tries a new strategy to recruit vampires by renting out a fight club training center. Also, Davina, now Regent to the New Orleans witch covens, makes a decision that will find her and Marcel on opposite sides of an escalating conflict when she takes Hayley prisoner and confines her to a crypt for an unknown purpose. | |||||||
