The Orphan of Ellis Island

The Orphan Of Ellis Island: A Time Travel Adventure is a 1997 children's novel by Elvira Woodruff.

The events of the novel take place at Ellis Island, where a boy, Dominick, is on a class trip with his new class shortly after being placed in a new foster home. He gets separated from the class, gets lost in a group of tourists from Japan, and eventually finds his way into a janitorial closet. He finds himself in Italy.[1][2]
