The Phish Companion is an encyclopedia about the band Phish. The first edition was published in 2000, with a second edition released around the time of Phish's breakup in 2004.
The Companion was produced by fans of the band, on a volunteer-basis and for charity, under the auspices of the nonprofit Mockingbird Foundation. Content includes song histories, setlists, essays, poetry, an index of lyrics, interviews, and more. Proceeds, of which over $600,000 has already been disbursed through 193 grants, benefit music education for children.[1] Contributors include Kevin Shapiro, Tom Marshall, Mike Gordon, and all of the people who taught each of the band members how to play music, as well as over 1,500 named fans.
