The Shark is an upcoming American horror drama film directed and written by Brannon Carty. The film stars Mike Malloy and Laurence James Sargent. Principal photography is scheduled to begin on June 13th, 2016 in Greensboro, North Carolina. The film is scheduled to be released in 2017 by RetroVision Entertainment, LLC.
Plot
A college Marine Biology professor (Mike Malloy) is accused of murder after his sister is attacked by a great white shark. He works with the doubtful law enforcement to fish for clues. Meanwhile, suspicious figures begin to occupy the town.

Production
The first draft of the script was completed in 2012. Initial production based on a 2013 draft was to take place July 2014, but was cancelled due to creative differences. In early 2016, a final draft was completed by Carty, with revisions by script doctor and actor Mike Malloy.
Filming
Principal photography is scheduled to begin on June 13th, 2016 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Special Effects
To create the titular creature, Carty hired Mike Schultz of Shark City Ozark, who had done prior work on SyFy's Ghost Shark.
