"The Shroud" is an episode of The Outer Limits television show. It first aired on 30 April 1999, during the fifth season.
Introduction
A married couple seeks help with conceiving a child. Behind the scenes, without their knowledge, a scientific team under the direction of a popular televangelist plans to use the woman to clone the human nature of Jesus Christ.

Plot
A couple Marie Wells (Samantha Mathis) and her husband Justin (Robert Wisden) have trouble conceiving a child on their own so they turn to the use of in vitro fertilisation to implant an embryo in Marie's uterus. Behind the scenes, however, some scientists, under the direction of a popular televangelist, plan to use the woman to clone Jesus Christ using DNA from the Shroud of Turin. As the child grows in Marie's womb, strange occurrence seem to herald the birth of the special child.
