The Times is a popular South African daily newspaper and an offshoot of The Sunday Times, to whose subscribers it is delivered gratis; non-subscribers pay R2.50 per edition. It is owned by Times Media Group.

Overview

The Times of South Africa is a daily paper which is delivered free to 137,054 (according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations statistics) Sunday Times subscribers five days a week. It is tabloid in size and is South Africa's first totally interactive newspaper which publishes in tandem with the website www.thetimes.co.za. The Times has an interactive newsroom where reporters work alongside multimedia producers and photographers to produce content for the newspaper, the website and mobile phones. The Times is also available for purchase at a cover price of R4.00 in limited quantities. The editor of The Times is Ray Hartley, the first South Africa newspaper editor with a blog.[1]

The online version is called Times LIVE. It contains breaking news, sport, entertainment and opinion pieces as well as video, audio and photo stories and blogs.
