Plot

Hank’s book signing is interrupted when Todd Carr, the director of "A Crazy Little Thing Called Love," arrives screaming about character defamation – Hank has blamed him in print and elsewhere for the failure of the novel-to-film adaptation. The two fight, Hank is arrested and Bill arrives with bail and a plea for Hank to continue the blogging job for the sake of the family.

Hank later meets Meredith (Amy Price-Francis), the woman with whom he was set up, and has a one-night stand with her. As Meredith leaves Hank's apartment, Mia arrives and asks Hank for help in her creative writing class (she wishes to take one of Hank's unpublished stories and give it to her teacher). When Karen arrives un-announced Mia hides herself in Hank's room. When Karen tells Hank to keep his new job for HelLA, she hears a noise coming from Hank's room. She assumes it is one of Hank's one-night stands, and attempts to enter the room but is abruptly stopped by Hank. When Karen leaves Hank rushes to his room only to discover that Mia has gone through his personal work and has stolen a short story to hand in as her own.

After a mild confrontation with his agent, Charlie, Hank sees Meredith at a bar, where she explains to him that she has been having a five year affair with a married man (whom she was seen with the previous night). She explains to Hank that, due to a misunderstanding, her lover's wife has her dog. Hank decides to steal him back (and a painting, while he is at it) and he and Meredith end up in bed again, only to discover, the following morning, that he got the wrong dog.

Meanwhile, in his office, Charlie masturbates to erotic photos of his blonde secretary, whom he just fired, posted on a website. After re-hiring her the next morning she gives him permission to punish her whenever she does something wrong. He soon finds a reason to spank her.

Hank later gives the dog to his daughter Becca and the painting to Bill, who praises his daughter Mia for the story she's written.
