The Wingate School (Mexico)

The Wingate School (TMS) is a British private school in the Mexico City metropolitan area that will open in 2016; it will serve ages four through 18.[1]

The first campus to open will be the Virreyes campus,[2] in Lomas de Chapultepec, Miguel Hidalgo, while the Huixquilucan campus,[3] serving the Interlomas area,[4] will open in 2017.[3] The Interlomas campus will serve early years through secondary school while the Virreyes campus will only serve primary school.[4]

History

A British man named Tom Wingate, who had lived in Mexico for various periods beginning in 1986, is the founder and head teacher. Wingate, a resident of Mexico married to a Mexican diplomat, had previously taught in Greengates School in Mexico State, as well as the City of London School in the United Kingdom and Wesleyan School in Greater Atlanta, Georgia, United States.[1]

Curriculum

The school will teach geography, history, and Spanish language classes in Spanish while English will be the language of instruction for the remainder of classes.[1]
