Theo "Teddy" Ruth (born February 14, 1989) is a retired American professional ice hockey player. He most recently played with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. He was selected by the Washington Capitals in the 2nd round (46th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Prior to turning professional, Ruth attended the University of Notre Dame where he played three seasons of college hockey with the NCAA Division I Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's ice hockey team. During his freshman season in 2007–08, Ruth's NHL rights were traded by the Capitals nearing the trade deadline to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Sergei Fedorov on February 26, 2008.[1]

On April 12, 2010, the Blue Jackets signed Ruth to a three-year entry level contract.[2]

On December 26th, 2013, Theo Ruth announced his retirement from hockey.
