Theodore Prentiss
Theodore Prentiss (September 10, 1818 -- August 3, 1906) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Biography
Prentiss was born on September 10, 1818 in Montpelier, Vermont.[1] He attended the University of Vermont before moving to Watertown, Wisconsin in 1845.[2]
On December 4, 1855, Prentiss married Martha Jane Perry. They were the parents of three children.
His father, Samuel Prentiss, was a member of the United States Senate and his uncle, John Holmes Prentiss, was a member of the United States House of Representatives. In 1865, his son James was elected Mayor of Watertown.
Career
Prentiss was a member of the Assembly from 1860 to 1861. Additionally, he was an alderman of and Mayor of Watertown from 1853 to 1855 and again from 1871 to 1872.
Death
Prentiss died on August 3, 1906. He was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.[3]
