Thiek is one of the numerous pahnams or sub-tribes of the Hmar tribe of India. The Thieks have their own dialect which is still widely spoken in Dima Hasao and parts of Cachar District in Assam and Manipur. The Thiek pahnam has many clans: 1. Amaw, 2. Athu, 3. Buhril, 4. Chawnnel, 5. Hekte (Ralsun, Chonghekte), 6. Hnamte, 7. Hmante, 8. Khawzawl (Lalum, Laldau, Saibung), 9. Kungate, 10.Kangbur, 11.Pakhumate (Khumthur, Khumsen), 12.Selate, 13.Thluchung, 14. Thlihran, 15.Tuolte, 16.Tuolor, 17.Tamte, 18.Taite, 19.Vankal (Pangote, Pangulte, Khawbuol)
