Thierry Frémaux (pronounced: [tjɛ.ʁi fʁe.mo]; born 29 May 1960 in Tullins-Fures, France)[1][2] is the director of the Institut Lumière and of the Cannes Film Festival.[3][4]

Frémaux has a master's degree in contemporary history from Lumière University Lyon 2.[2]
