Thinle Lhondup (Nepali: थिन्ले लोन्डुप), also known as Thinley or Thinlen (November 7, 1943 – April 24, 2016), was a popular Nepalese Himalayan actor. He is best known for his acting in Himalaya, a 1999 adventure film directed by Éric Valli, a French film director.[1][2] The film was nominated in the Best Foreign Film category at the 72nd Academy Awards.[3] He also appeared in some Nepali music videos like the popular "Sa Karnali".[3]

Thinle died on April 24, 2016 in Kathmandu, Nepal from after falling from a horse, aged 72. He was also suffering from stomach cancer for which he took treatment at Kathmandu.[3][4]
