Thomas Gallant is an American oboist who performs with the Adaskin String Trio as well as other chamber music groups.[1][2] Gallant is managing director of MCM Artists, a classical and contemporary musicians agency.[3]
Biography
Early life and education
Gallant studied at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, USA, with Jerry Sirucek.[4]
Career
Gallent has performed at Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York City and in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Vienna Konzerthaus in Austria, Spoleto Festival in Italy and Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center. He has been guest soloist with the Kronos Quartet at the Ravinia Festival and has collaborated with flutists Jean-Pierre Rampal and Paula Robison, Cuarteto Casals, the Colorado and Lark Quartets, Cuarteto Latinoamericano and the Adaskin String Trio.[5]
Thomas Gallant is known for his performance style which combines the American and European traditions of oboe playing with an “Evoluzione” oboe made by the Italian maker Fratelli Patricola.[5]
