Cypriot registry

Cyprus has a highly developed ship-management sector, the second largest in the world, with 2,500 ships under management. The sector contributes over €1 billion to the economy annually.[12] A settlement of the Cyprus dispute could boost the island`s commercial fleet, as 2,500 ships currently under management by Cyprus-based companies could be registered in the Cypriot registry, Kazakos said in an interview in 2016.[13]

Oil & Gas framework

The discovery of natural gas in Cyprus Exclusive economic zone created more prospects for shipping. Thomas called on the government to establish the legal framework within which the petroleum industry sector will operate.[14]

Thomas studied in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Law and a master's degree in European & International Trade Law.
